Narrative Description of Project
The services are related to the third component of the SRPL program, with its focus on the artisanal fisheries sector, aims at improving the framework conditions to increase the income security of households dependent on artisanal fishing.
The General Objective
Is to improve the framework conditions for increasing the income security of households dependent on artisanal fisheries and thereby ultimately boost their resilience.
The Specific Objective
Of the action is to rehabilitate landing and marketing infrastructure in the locations of Al-Mukalla - Al-Ummal, Ash-Shihr and Husaihusa and a fourth location to be selected. the planning of the rehabilitation of fishery landing sites shall be executed along the following phases:
1. Analysis phase (final report provided by local consultant).
2. Preliminary design
3. Detailed design
4. Tendering
5. Implementation Components of the landing sites are open sales and market halls, office buildings, facilities for ice production, temporally fish storage facilities, public sanitary facilities, waste collection and treatment facilities, simple wastewater treatment facilities, energy generation facilities (renewable and generators), interior access roads/areas, and the rehabilitation of seaward infrastructure (quay walls, ramps and embankments). The consultant will ensure that the design of the landing sites will consider workflows of fish from landing to marketing in order to contribute to better hygienic conditions as well as reducing post-harvest losses. Funds for construction for the rehabilitation of the three-landing site are approx. 1,650000 Euro and for the fourth site approx. 550.000 Euro.
