Narrative description
Jaef dam is located in the Nihem District in the central part of Sana’a Basin; It is an existing concrete gravity dam 16 m high with an existing reservoir capacity of 60,000 m3. The rehabilitation plan included adding an upstream reinforced concrete vertical wall and a downstream concrete-masonry berm to enhance the overall stability. The plan also included spillway extension to control erosion, addition of drainage holes to control seepage, grouting and sealing of the left abutment, addition of relief wells at downstream side, rehabilitation of draw-off works, and installation of instrumentation.
