The Minster of Public Works and Highways in Yemen Eng. Moien Abdelmalik accompanied by several high level officials from the Ministry and Aden Governorate, visited Aden Causeway and Caltex roundabout project sites in Aden.
The construction works of this project were put on hold for a round due to the 2 years due to the security situation in Yemen and the rehabilitation and construction works were resumed recently.
The Consultancy services of the project were awarded the Joint Venture that includes Hani Sahooly for Engineering Consultancy in 2010 and the works at that time included the preparation of the Feasibility Studies, Detailed Engineering Design and Tender Documents and the Construction Supervision works of the project.
The causeway is considered one of the most pivotal and main ways in Aden, connecting southern districts (Crater, Altwahi, and Al ma’alla & Khormaksar) and northern districts (Almansoura, Sheikh Othman, Dar Saad & Alboraiqa).
It is financed by the Arab Fund for Social and Economic Development (AFESD) and the Construction cost was estimated to be US$ 35 Million.
