HS Group for Engineering and Consultancy, represented by its regional office in Yemen, Infra Construction, has signed an agreement with the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen to dig three water wells in Hadibou and two in Qalansia, Socotra Governorate, Yemen. The project aims to double the current water production.
Engineer Osama Abu Ghanem, the operations manager with HS Group, stated that digging the water wells is the first step in Saudi Arabia's program for implementing development and service projects in the Socotra Archipelago, prioritizing water and electricity services for the population. He added that the additional water wells will significantly increase the water supply for both towns, meeting the required quantity of water. It is worth noting that this is the first project of the Saudi program in Socotra, launched during the month of Ramadan in 2018.

وقال مدير التشغيل م. أسامة أبو غانم: أن البدء بتنفيذ مشاريع حفر آبار مياه الشرب هو الخطوة الأولى لجميع المشاريع التنموية والخدمية التي ستنفذ في أرخبيل سقطرى وبتمويل من السعودية حيث تعتبر المياه والكهرباء من اهم أولويات المواطن.
وأضاف م. أسامة أبو غانم أن حفر آبار مياه الشرب سيضاعف إنتاج المياه ويغذي المدن بالكمية المطلوبة وهو أول مشروع للبرنامج السعودي للتنمية وإعمار اليمن الذي انطلقت أعماله من جزيرة سقطرى في شهر رمضان المبارك.
